Dr. Schuller is an ordained minister of the Reformed Church of America, coming from the Dutch Reformed Church, and has written numerous books on the subject of possibility thinking.

HISTORY

The Hour of Power is the televised recording of the church services coming from the Crystal Cathedral in Garden Grove (near Los Angeles), USA. It started 40 years ago in September of 1969 when Billy Graham encouraged Dr. Schuller to televise his powerful, possibility-thinking church services and call it the Hour of Power.  And so he did!  The Hour of Power has grown over the years both in the USA and abroad.  It remains the longest running televised church service ever. 

During the past year, the pulpit has been opened up to a variety of world renowned preachers and Christian speakers, both male and female.  In this way, the Hour of Power continues to be the most widely heard voice of positive Christianity in the world today and is viewed by many millions of people each week.

Since its founding, Crystal Cathedral Ministries has been a Christ-centered place where positive Christian attitudes are developed and nurtured.  The Hour of Power mission is to spread the real message of God’s love.  It is all of our business, as God’s disciples, to shine His light into this sometimes very dark world.  It is His light that breaks up darkness and attracts people in the darkness to His light. 

Jesus spoke to the people and said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”  John 8:12. It is the purpose of the Hour of Power to be a beacon of light to those in need who, for whatever reason, cannot attend church services themselves.

OBJECTIVE

The Hour of Power is a non-profit organization and our main objective is to buy more TV airtime for the Hour of Power church services.  Through our weekly televised program, we hope to reach multitudes of people with the Good News and save lives! Although single donations are always very welcome, regular monthly donations will enable us to budget for precious airtime.
