Dear Hour of Power friend

This letter is from Janine Basterman, a prisoner in the North End prison in PE. She writes:

“This morning was the first time that I have heard about your name (i.e. the Hour of Power) and the Hour of Power gave me the guts this morning to go in front of a hundred prisoners (to) give them a message, then I told them about the message I got this morning on TV about (from) the Hour of Power. Keep on doing the good work of God and thank you for reminding me how much God loves me.”

This letter sums up the many reactions we have had from eTV viewers since our broadcasts began in September 2008. Thank you for your faithful support that made this broadcasting possible. Sadly, however, we had to discontinue our broadcasting on eTV for the time being due to a lack of funds. We will be back as soon as we have accumulated sufficient funds to sign another 6-months contract (see: Luke 14:28). It really depends on the support we get from our vision-sharing friends like you, as to how quickly we will get back on national television.

We all know that if we want to see changes with regards to crime & other issues, we first need to bring the Word of God back on national television. This remains our mission! We need to proclaim the gospel where we know it must be heard. I humbly ask: will you help us? When Jesus needed transport (see Matthew 21:2&3), He had already spoken into the heart of the donkey’s owner. Whatever you can easily afford is great, even if it is just R25 per month. (If possible, do arrange a monthly scheduled payment with your bank, as this saves a lot in banking costs and helps us to budget for airtime on a monthly basis). We realize that these are hard times, but I somehow think that that donkey found its way back to its owner. This has been my personal experience ever since I have been sponsoring and giving to ministries. I have never become any poorer! On the contrary, God always blesses me with more and more…. Cast your bread upon the waters, for after many days you will find it again. (Eccl. 11:1).

Following the recent resignation of Robert A Schuller as Senior Pastor, the pulpit of the Crystal Cathedral has been opened to a variety of world-renowned speakers, both male and female. Thus, the Hour of Power remains the most widely heard voice of positive Christianity to the world. We wish Robert A Schuler all the best for his future ministry and maybe we will once again see him in South Africa.

God loves you and so do we!
Yours in His service
