SUNDAY'S MESSAGE
Bright ideas
Robert H. Schuller
"He who forms the mountains, who creates the wind, and who reveals his thoughts to mortals…the Lord God Almighty is his name." – Amos 4:13
A while back I bought an interesting flashlight. Before I decided to buy it, however, I asked the sales lady, "How long will the battery last?"
"As long as you do," she replied.
"What do you mean?" I queried.
"You are the battery," she explained. "There's no battery inside. You have to pump the handle at the bottom of the flashlight to make it light up."
I tried it, and sure enough, I generated the power needed to make it light up! As soon as I stopped pumping, the light went out.
There is a beautiful principle found in this little story: If you make the right commitments to an idea that is beautiful, but it seems impossible, all you have to do is pray and "possibilitize"—keep pumping! Bright ideas will come your way—ideas that come from God.
