Dear “Hour of Power” friend!

Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed people can change this country. However, it is so easy to sit up and take notice. What is difficult is getting up and taking action!

We really appreciate your interest in the Hour of Power. Once you have considered the contents of this newsletter our prayer is that you will help us to extend the broadcasts of the Hour of Power in SA. Thank you so much!

Although over the past 10 years some fantastic progress has been made towards the creation of a peaceful society in South Africa, it seems we are still losing the war against crime. Why? I think it is because the media focuses on the negative and does not provide sufficient exposure of that which really can bring about change in mankind. People get into crime because they get hooked into games, gambling, drugs, pornography and other negative impacting activities. Only Jesus Christ can bring deliverance and peace to mankind.

The management of SATV is trying to be very "careful" when it comes to religion on TV and prefers to make programs where each religion must have a say. Consequently, the true gospel of Jesus Christ has been thrown out with the bathwater. The net result really is .... nothing at all!!!!

The good news is that the media also can be a powerful instrument for building positive, decent humans. If we want to see change, we as Christians will need to stand together. With your help, this is possible! Unfortunately we had to suspend our broadcasting on eTV for the time being due to high costs. We will be back on national television as soon as we have saved enough funds again to sign up for another 6 months contract (see Luke 14:28). Your gift or service to this ministry will accelerate this. Every little bit helps, even if it is only R25 per month. You can also help by praying for us and by telling your family and friends about the Hour of Power. We are also looking for corporate sponsors who are willing to pay for airtime (which includes exposure of their own business on national television).

We know that after April 2010 there may be a few new local channels coming on air when we start the move from analogue to digital. Let us hope and pray that we find an affordable time slot on one of these channels.

We are a non-profit organization and our main objective is to buy more TV airtime for the Hour of Power program. Although single donations are always very welcome, regular monthly donations will enable us to budget for airtime on a monthly basis.

A regular donation (even if made only once per year) will automatically entitle you to become a member of CCMSA. Any donation of R25 per month or more will entitle you to receiving the monthly “Powerlines” newsletter from the Crystal Cathedral in LA. A regular donation of at least R100 will entitle you to the annual Sparrows gift. A regular donation of at least R250 per month will entitle you to the annual Eagle gift. Our monthly Sparrow and Eagle donors each also qualify for a gift on their birthday.

If you would like to make a donation now you can use the following:

PS. The Hour of Power has proven itself in many countries around the world as a Christian outreach that can change people’s lives from despair to hope, from lost to found. Time and time again we have heard testimonies ‘You Saved My Life’. Let’s work and pray together so that we can help change and save lives in SA.

*To watch or hear these stations you only need a satellite decoder and a dish – there are no monthly satellite charges! If you have a decoder and a dish, but cannot pick up the channel, proceed as stated below. However, before making any changes, make a note of the current settings on your home network. You sometimes find that when you start working on the other networks, somehow DSTV makes changes to your home network, unbeknown to you, causing you to get stuck in “scan”. You then have to change the settings of the home network back to what it was before you started working on the other networks.

•Click on MENU, go to Advanced Options, select Dish Installation. Pin Code = 9949. Leave home network unaltered. Click on Network 2. Use right hand arrow to change to DStvPAS7, Press OK. Change co-ordinates as follows (each parameter that you want to change you need to press OK and then press OK again when you filled in the correct figures)
Frequency: 11674 MHz; Symbol Rate: 26652; FEC: 5/6. Polarisation: Vertical. NIT:Yes. When at “Accept these settings…: press OK.

• Click on Network 3. Use right hand arrow to change to DStvPAS7, Press OK. Change co-ordinates as follows:
Frequency: 12682 MHz; Symbol Rate: 26657; FEC: 1/2. Polarisation: Horizontal. NIT:Yes. When at “Accept these settings…: press OK.

• Click OK when you moved down to “Scan All networks”. Wait for the scanning to finish.

• Now, when you press the TV button on your remote you can chose Public DStv IS 7/10 (press OK) instead of DSTV and find the channel you wanted.
Press the music button to get the radio stations like Impact and Radio Pulpit.
To go back to DSTV, simply press TV again, move up or down to DSTV and press OK on DSTV.
You may have to wait a little before they connect you back into the DSTV network. (Moving to channel 101 (MNET) speeds it up).
