Our Objective
Many Christians
who cannot attend a church service on a Sunday morning feel the
need for a regular Sunday church service on a local TV station
at a reasonable timeslot. However, the real strength of the Hour of Power broadcast
lies in its ability to awaken a spiritual hunger in persons who
are no longer connected to a church or who never have been. It
is therefore also a mission to the un-churched, finding people
in their living rooms, hotel rooms or where ever people happen
to be. What better way to proclaim the gospel to people in prison
than via a TV broadcast? Who will tell them about God if
not us? God has given us the vision to put the Hour of Power television
programme on a popular local TV channel at a reasonable timeslot
on a Sunday morning. We believe this would be to the benefit
of the whole of South-Africa. Because of certain governing policies
we can rule out obtaining airtime on SABC. The only reasonable
alternative is E-TV. We therefore appeal to all our supporters
to write to E-TV and inform them of the Hour of Power programme.
Once E-TV approach us, we will need to be financially sound as
we will be faced with commercial broadcasting rates of at least
R30 000 per hour. We ask for your prayers for this, because we
serve a prayer-answering God. Remember Luke 18:1-8? Most recently
we saw the movie “Faith like potatoes” and
it really encouraged us. When it looks difficult and everyone
says: “it is impossible…!”, we can trust God
for a miracle. An appeal is therefore made to all our supporters
(and their friends!) to support the ministry financially in order
to meet this goal. It does not matter how small the contribution.
Nehemiah needed people from all walks of life to help him finish
the job. So do we!
Our Accomplishments
At the beginning of 2006 we opened the Hour
of Power Office
in Pretoria and in May 2006 we were officially registered as
a Section 21 (not for profit) organization under the name “Crystal
Cathedral Ministries”. Our stated vision is to promote
Christian television, to spread the Gospel and inspire people. We
believe that God has given us the Hour of Power programme
as a tool to help us accomplish this. Through your generous donations,
we have already been able to buy some extra airtime! As a result,
apart from our regular broadcasts on CNBC (54) and TBN (77),
- the Hour of Power can now also be seen on Rhema
TV (Channel 78) at 05h00 on a Sunday morning;
- Love World Christian Network decided to increase our broadcast
from twice a week to four times per week;
- CNW has started broadcasting the Hour of Power on
CSN for a period of six months free of charge; thereafter it
will depend on the finances drawn whether this broadcast will
be continued. It is on Tuesday mornings from 6h30 until 7h00.
- The Hour of Power can now also be heard on a radio
station, namely Impact Radio at 103 FM. We have six
months free to air. Thereafter, it will depend on finances
drawn whether these broadcasts will be continued. Tune in
Sundays at 15h00.
- The Hour of Power is now also aired on two new free-to-air
satellite TV channels, namely CTV, Wednesday evenings at 20h00,
and on the Omega Channel, Tuesday- and Sunday- evenings at

These are all stepping stones that will bring
us closer to our goal!
Our Need
CNBC is our
most popular channel, but also the most costly one, due to its
popular time slot. We do not know for sure if we will be able
to continue broadcasting on CNBC after June 2007 unless we get
more financial support. Single donations are most welcome but
again we want to emphasize that we would rather have 100 supporters
giving just R25 a month than one single donation of R2500. Why?
When we enter into negotiations with a TV station, it is important
that we have a regular monthly income. This will also enable
us to budget on a monthly basis. At
this stage, all donations made to Crystal Cathedral Ministries
are used solely for paying Hour of Power airtime.
We encourage you to pray about your ability to support the
Ministry in obtaining its vision. Just think of the benefits
the Hour of Power will have for this country if we
can succeed in bringing it on a local TV channel. Together
we can make this dream come true!
