Team-playing success...

"'Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,' says the Lord..." -Zechariah 4:6b
There are countless business and motivational gurus, both professed Christians and secular, attempting to make us better people - more productive, successful and, yes, even more spiritual. But, where do we place our faith? In our abilities or in God's direction?
If our "success" is born out of our personal accomplishments and diligence rather than in being obedient to God's word and the direction of his Spirit, where will we be? Maybe we will gain power, prosperity, and success, and feel we have made a significant contribution to society, but where is the glory to God?
It's our responsibility as believers to be there for each other on God's team. The Holy Spirit is our coach, our goal is the awareness of what Jesus has done, and our ownership and management direction comes from God. God will place each one of us on the team and in the position he wants us to play. We must listen to our Coach, keep our eyes on the goal, and go where we are directed.
That is being significant and successful in God's eyes.
Prayer: Dear Lord, you only ask one thing of me - to give you first priority in my life. I give you all the glory and praise for the great things you will do and are doing in and through me. Amen.
Reflection: What's your definition of success? How does God play a role in your achieving and maintaining that success?
